Dove's Guide Search Page

The CCCBR has a much more up to date search page at cccbr.org.uk/dove/dove.php. I keep this because it still has some options that are not there, but the database hasn't been updated in some years.

Filter options:

Tower name:	(You can use wildcards to save typing and increase the probability of a match. Not case-sensitive)
County(Britain):
Country:
Minimum tenor weight:	cwt
Tenor weight less than:	cwt
Number of bells:
Practice night:
Ground floor rings only:
Towers with webpages:
Ignore unringable towers:

Towers matching above criteria
* either within kilometres of
* or nearest to
* either the tower named (wildcards acceptable) in (leave tower name blank if you don't want to use this option)
* or the postcode (leave blank if you don't want to use this option)

Notes:

Wildcards: You can use '*' to match any number of characters, and '?' to match any single character.
Finding nearby towers: It is only possible to do this for towers in Great Britain.
Searching nearby: It is possible to search for towers near to a chosen tower from the results page.
Unexpected results: In Dove, if there is more than one tower in a town, the tower names are differentiated in some way, often by the dedication. So, for example, "Lincoln" is not a tower name, "Lincoln, St Giles" and "Lincoln, St Botolph" are. If the program does not find an exact match for "tower", it will search again for"tower*". Occasionally, however, unexpected results may occur, as the case where you enter "Cambridge" and 1 match is found - Cambridge in New Zealand. This is a result of the way Dove records towers.
